Josiah, being the animal enthusiast he is, really enjoyed going to the Rainforest Cafe on his birthday. Today we are off to the Lincoln Park zoo in Chicago for him to get his fill of the real thing. He is such a joy to watch, especially in his enthusiasm and delight in all things wild. It was a really sweet night to remember how very special he makes our family.
I don't know, Nana & Gramps...do you think he likes it?!
Looks like all his grandparents know him pretty well!

Have you noticed how many of us bloggers have Spring babies?!? It's been one birthday post after another! :)
Your little guy is a real cutie; hope he has fun celebrating.
So, do ya'll live real near Chicago? We're considering a long weekend trip that direction for a much-needed vacation. Haven't decided for sure yet. We have so many places we WANT to go, but decisions...decisions!
Love you Si-guy and wish I could have been there to celebrate with you in person. Hope you had a wonderful day in Chicago at the Zoo and with Aunt Amy and Uncle Steve. A whole week of birthday celebration, aren't you the lucky birthday boy!!!
Love,
Aunt Bebe
Loved these pics of sweet
Si...esp the one with his beautiful Grandma!
Tara: We are north of the city quite a ways (depending on how you hit traffic). We'd love to see you all when you are here...I'd be very happy to share whatever tips we have picked up for doing the city along the way. In a nutshell, it is pricey and not always so family friendly...but the museums and American Doll store are just incredible!
Aunt Bebe: wish you could have been here, too....you made our little boy SO incredibly happy with his new National Geographic books/dvds.
Awwww, Happy Birthday!!
How time flies. I can hardly believe that Si is 6 years old. Seems like only yesterday that he was born. He was such a delightful little fellow. Happy birthday from the Fredericks.
Jen,
Wow your kids are growing up so fast! We love Lincoln Park, Ryan lived there for 2 months for a rotation at children's hospital during his 5th year of residency. I went up every weekend (we lived 3 hours south) The Zoo was one of our favorites. A really awesome restaurant for you and Tom (maybe a date night) is "Rose Angelie's" I think I spelled that right, wonderful homemade italian and huge portions and reasonable price.
Happy 6th Birthday Si!!! The zoo sounds like so much fun! What a great way to spend your birthday! The next time we visit you'll have to show Grace and Jack-Jack everything there! They love the zoo too!
Jenny - I still vividly remember holding Si in the living room of the parsonage when he was just days old. I didn't know it yet, but I was pregnant with Micah. I have such fond memories of Josiah and he always holds a special place in my heart!
Sounds like you have spring break this week - enjoy your time together!!
Wow! Si...you look so big in these pictures. I hope you had a very happy birthday. Your cake looks AWESOME!! I hope it was tasty. We miss you and can't wait to see you this summer. The boys can't wait to see your new jungle animal stuff.
