Jenny, I just read Kim's post and your comment. I read "1000 splendid Suns" in our bookclub and it was a really awesome book.. I Just finished the Kite Runner. Also good and very disturbing in some places. Also like 1000 Suns. I had Kite runner on my I POD and listened to it during my long runs, made them less boring.
Hey - guess where I am? At a class with David at Trinity! He's been getting a hotel every week because of the remodeling. And this was a week that worked out for his mom to keep the kids. So we decided to make this a little "mini date!" We'll see how it goes, and maybe we can do it again sometime with the kids. Karissa and Daddy have been "planning" a trip for all of us to Chicago. So maybe we can take you up on that idea of a museum or zoo or just meeting somewhere! I have no idea if a Monday or Tuesday would work for you all, but maybe we could take Kayla out of school and try it sometime this fall. What do you think? I want to catch up on your blog, but I need to turn David's computer over to him before this class starts. I tried to send this through email but it didn't work. Sorry about the long comment.

"There's over 2,500 verses in the Bible that deal with the issue of helping the poor, the sick, the hungry. God set it up that we are to address this issue and that he works through us. His Plan B? Well, I don't know what Plan B is. Plan A is the way he set it up." Tony Hall --former U.S. ambassador for humanitarian issues, on the global food crisis

I walked out on the hill just now. It is exalting, delicious, to stand embraced by the shadows of a friendly tree with the wind tugging at your coattail and the heavens hailing your heart, to gaze and glory and give oneself again to God—what more could a man [woman] ask? Oh, the fullness, pleasure, sheer excitement of knowing God on earth! I care not if I never raise my voice again for Him, if only I may love Him, please Him. . . . If only I may see Him, touch His garments, and smile into His eyes.

What a special special time, it is so easy to forget how little they were. Pure sweetness, yummy.
